This isn’t a polished glow-up story. Not yet. It’s a raw, real-time rebuild, and I’m living it, breath by breath.
I’m Toi: a single mom of four, a Metro Atlanta native, a community builder, and the heart behind Pretty Resourceful. Right now, I’m navigating everything from car repairs to courtrooms, co-parenting chaos to career pivots, while still choosing softness, strategy, and self-worth every day.

This post is about more than survival. It’s about resilience, finding purpose in uncertainty, and actively rebuilding a life that feels like home.
Piece by Piece: The Real Rebuild
After walking away from a toxic marriage, I had to start from zero, emotionally, financially, and logistically. Most importantly, I was completely alone when it came to providing for my children. I ultimately moved into a single room at my mother’s house. My belongings were in storage. My Jeep had broken down. And my four children needed consistency, care, and love while I was still learning how to give those things to myself.
But slowly and intentionally, I started to rebuild:
A purpose-driven career that lets me use my voice and vision through local marketing and community storytelling
A daily rhythm that balances structure with softness for my kids
A money mindset rooted in clarity, not fear
A brand, Pretty Resourceful, that reflects my journey and helps others find their own path
It’s imperfect, nonlinear, and entirely mine.
What Rebuilding Actually Looks Like
Let me be real, it’s messy and miraculous.
Rebuilding looks like:
Having a meltdown in the car before hopping on a Zoom pitch, and still showing up powerfully
Saying “no” to pressure so you can say “yes” to peace
Teaching your kids emotional regulation while rewriting your own wiring
Sending out pitch emails with a prayer and a deep breath
Releasing relationships, routines, and comparisons that no longer serve you
Celebrating small wins like sending emails and folding laundry on the same day
This is real life. This is soft strength in action.
5 Tools I’m Using to Rebuild Right Now
Here are the tools anchoring me right now as I rebuild in real-time:
1. Journaling & Honest Reflection
I journal daily, sometimes from the car during school pick-up. It helps me process and clarify purpose.
2. Soft Structure
I gave up on trying to stick to strict routines. Now I create flexible rhythms that honor my flow and my babies’ needs.
3. Impact-Driven Income Streams
I’m growing my brand Pretty Resourceful with digital offers, creative collaborations, and community marketing for Atlanta small businesses.
4. Support Systems That Actually See Me
From therapists to prayer circles to soul-aligned friends, I no longer try to do this alone.
5. Rest as a Resource
Rest isn’t a reward. It’s a necessity. I treat sleep, joy, and stillness like they matter, because they do.
📣 Final Words
If you’re rebuilding, whether as a mom, entrepreneur, or woman in healing, I see you.
You don’t have to be polished to be powerful. You don’t have to be perfect to be purposeful. You don’t have to rebuild alone.
Pretty Resourceful is here to be both your soft landing and your launchpad.
Drop a comment, DM me, or share your story. Let’s grow through what we go through, together.
